Welcome to CODIFICATION!

Here you’ll find everything you need to complete your Codification for the Learning Phase of the Others Focused Excursion.

Instructions:

  1. Listen to the audio note.

  2. Set aside about 2 hours to sit with and reflect upon the Codification questions.

  3. Answer the questions thoroughly and thoughtfully using the document that was emailed to you.

  4. “Reply all” to the email that has been sent to you attaching your authored Codification. (Your Codification will only be viewed by The Aperio.)

Codification Questions

  1. Overall, what are some of your takeaways from the Learning Phase of the Others Focused Excursion (April 2021 to July 2021)? Be thorough in your reflection by detailing the stories behind your takeaways. Please author two full paragraphs or more per takeaway.

  2. Of the six concentrations in the Learning Phase of the Others Focused Excursion (Worldview, Attentive, Curious, Empathic, Humble, and Agapone) . . . 

    • Which was the easiest for you to engage with and practice? Why? (Please respond with a paragraph or more.)

    • Which was the most challenging for you? Why? (Please respond with a paragraph or more.)

  3. In your own words, how does being Others Focused—Attentive, Curious, Empathic, Humble, and Agapone—impact your effectiveness as a leader? Please author two full paragraphs or more. 

  4. Over the last twelve weeks, have you been able to see any connections between your Worldview and your ability to be a leader who is Others Focused? In comparison to your answer at the beginning of the Learning Phase, how do you now answer the question, “To what extent are others worthy of my focus?” Are you satisfied with your answer, or do you want it to shift or change in the future? Please author two full paragraphs or more.

  5. How does being Others Focused—Attentive, Curious, Empathic, Humble, and Agapone—impact your ability to execute your WIGs and the Model Store Playbook? What has been the most valuable way that your efforts to become more Others Focused has supported your 4DX efforts?

  6.     • Doing the concentration practices. (This is not about doing the concentration practice perfectly for all two weeks but about how “top of mind” the effort was for you. Was it a regular part of your mental focus?)

    • Writing and sending weekly reflections to your Small Group.

    • Meeting and discussing with your Small Group every other week.

    • Meeting with Excursion Advisors both individually and with your small group.

  11. As a result of the Learning Phase of the Others Focused Excursion, do you see yourself as any more Others Focused as a person and leader? Why or why not? Please author one full paragraph or more.

  12. As you prepare to enter the Application Phase of the Others Focused Excursion, what expectations do you currently have about what you will learn and experience? What are your thoughts, hopes, hesitations, concerns, etc.? Be as specific as possible in your response.
